Today we look at styling ideas for a rug in your main bedroom. With most of us spending 1/3 of our lives in our bedrooms, it's no wonder these are a popular area to style. A stunning bedroom rug can add the finishing touches to create a relaxing, tranquil space for sleep.
Let's discuss some of the most popular ways to style a rug in your main bedroom:
- One of the most popular main bedroom designs involves placing a large rectangular rug under the bed and extending beyond it, as shown in the image below. This design ensures a nice flow throughout the room, tying all the decor together whilst letting each individual piece make a statement.
- Another option is to place small runner rugs on 2 or 3 sides of the bed. This is both a practical and stylish option for main bedrooms with floorboards or tiles to add some warmth underfoot on cold winter mornings and evenings and absorb sound.
- Cover the entire floorspace! Whilst this is a bold option, it can certainly create a beautiful look to your main bedroom, and add warmth and comfort underfoot throughout the room. It will also provide maximum sound absorption to keep your room nice and quiet.
- Get creative! Placing a rectangular rug at a different angle to the bed can work especially well if you have a main bedroom that is shaped differently from the usual square or similar shape. Or perhaps you have a perfect space in the main bedroom for a round rug. You can also consider layering rugs (one rug on top of the other) and combining shapes, such as rectangular and round.
